What We Believe

Statement of Faith

The Trinity

We believe that one God has existed from all eternity and will exist into all eternity in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God the Son, come in human flesh, being fully God and fully man, except without sin. (Matthew 1:18, Matthew 28:18-20, John 1:1-4, John 1:14, Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 1:15-20, Hebrews 4:15)

The Word of God

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, was written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (John 17:17, Romans 15:4, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Peter 1:19-21)

Separation from God

We believe that all men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and that the consequences of sin is eternal death. (Romans 3:23, Ephesians 2:1-3)

Resurrection

We believe in the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ as the only redemption of man from his sinful condition. (John 1:12-13, John 3:16-18, Acts 20:21, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4. Ephesians 2:4-9, Titus 3:5, Hebrews 4:13-14)

Restoration of Relationship

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Acts 3:19-21, Romans 6:17-22, Romans 10:9-10)

Conduct

The goal of the Christian, empowered with the Holy Spirit, is to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ to bring glory to God. (1 Corinthians 10:31, Ephesians 2:10, Ephesians 4:11-13)

Statement of Beliefs

Treatment of Others

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. We believe that demeaning, disrespectful, and bullying behaviors are not in accordance with Scripture. (Mark 12:28-31, Ephesians 4:29, Colossians 3:12-13)

Parents and Children

We believe that children are a gift from God, that parents are responsible to train them, and that children should obey their parents. We recognize the parent as the authority figure in the parent-child relationship. (Psalm 127:3-5, Ephesians 6:2-4, Colossians 3:20)

Sanctity of Life

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Psalm 139:1-16)

Created in the Image of God

We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Genesis 1:26-27)

Marriage

We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Genesis 2:18-25)

We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman within a marriage. (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:18, Hebrews 13:4)

The Statement of Faith and Statement of Beliefs do not exhaust the extent of our beliefs.  The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God speaks with authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind and is the source of what we believe.
