Kathleen Uss

The 2024-2025 school year will be my second year teaching at Connections and our family’s fourth year attending. I have two amazing kids who keep me on my toes, and I am so incredibly grateful for this amazing community! 

I’ve always loved helping others learn – I started out working in my college’s writing lab, helping other students understand grammar and teaching them how to write papers. Right out of college, I taught high school literature and for the past 15 years, I’ve worked in publishing helping authors and illustrators. I have a BA in communication arts and an MS in Publishing and just love the world of writing and reading.

I genuinely believe the more we read, the more well-rounded and empathetic we can be. The more we write, the more we practice how to communicate, which is such a strong skill for children and adults alike.

I’m excited for the year ahead and helping students learn more about some new books and ways of analyzing and reading books.
