What is Connections?

Connections is a non-profit, homeschool organization that empowers you, as a homeschooling parent, to educate and equip your children by providing arts and academic classes in a large, supportive, and welcoming community. We offer over 100 classes from preschool through 12th grade on Mondays in Everett and Wednesdays in Woodinville.

Classes range from Art, Band, Drama and Choir to Languages, Logic, Bible, History, English, Literature, Communication, Science, Technology and Math. Students may enroll in as few as one or as many as ten courses over the two days.

Instructors are chosen for their subject expertise and their passion for working with students. Classes meet once a week on campus, university model style, where parents supervise their student in the at-home work that our instructors have prepared. You are free to tailor the work to your child’s unique needs. As a homeschooling parent you are ultimately responsible for your children’s education, but our instructors partner with you in the process.

Students may enroll in any Connections class if they are homeschooled. Students who also participate in a public school/parent partnership like Northshore Networks or the HEE are also welcome to attend. Likewise, students who have been previously homeschooled and are concurrently enrolled in Running Start are eligible for Connections’ classes.

Who are We?

Although Connections is a non-profit, Christian organization, all homeschooling families are welcomed. We ask that our families be respectful of our Statement of Faith and Beliefs while on campus, regardless of personal religious or non-religious affiliation.

Connections is not an accredited school or part of the public school system, and thus cannot provide you with a transcript. There are many resources available to help you with that process, so if you need some direction in finding them, please ask!

We are not a co-op in a traditional sense of the word, where all families vote on every issue and classes are taught by parent volunteers. Connections has a volunteer board, and our instructors are independent contractors. However, we could not exist without our parents! Every family is asked to perform a job which may require that you arrive 20 minutes before your first class or remain 20 minutes after your last class. All other jobs are completed during the hours your students have classes.

Parents are required to remain on campus, and we encourage you to sit in on classes with your children. We realize that as your children grow older, they may not wish to have their parents with them in class, so there are places for parents to be with other parents around campus. If coming to campus each week is a hardship, parents of students who are 15 years and older may use a Substitute Parent form after attending a Substitute Parent meeting and receiving board approval. All parents are required to be on-site for the first two weeks of classes.

10 Reasons You are a Future Connections Family

  1. You’d like your high school student to learn physics from a retired university physics professor.
  2. Rather than complete your art credits through family sing-a-longs, you want the choice of five levels of band, six choir and music classes, seven visual arts options, and eight drama courses.
  3. You don’t believe that playing Minecraft should be the extent of a programming class.
  4. You want your children to learn how to communicate and collaborate with others.
  5. Dissecting sheep eyeballs at home makes you squeamish.
  6. Your children are 4, 9, and 15 and you’d love to extend the life of your Honda Odyssey by driving to one location for classes.
  7. Social quarantining just isn’t your thing, and your kids would love to have school experiences like yearbook, dances, concerts and spirit days.
  8. Your middle schooler has out-mathed you.
  9. You want to have the final say in your child’s education.
  10. Because homeschooling and raising children can be challenging, you want to be in a community with other parents and teachers who will encourage, support, and partner with you. (And you just might make life-long friendships along the way!)
