Annie Borrero

My name is Annie Borrero, I am married to Michael, and we have three children. I was born and raised in Germany before coming to America 24 years ago. Growing up with a mom as a foreign language teacher, learning many different languages was kind of normal – five in my school career alone, and I added a few more later in my life. I have taught German and French in different environments and in my home to my children. 

I believe speaking another language opens doors to communicate with people from around the world. It connects two human beings with different backgrounds, different cultures, and different life circumstances to understand each other. I saw that when I spent a school year in France and made life-long friends – friends whose kids are now my daughters’ pen pals. Combined, our family speaks four different languages fluently, which makes traveling so much fun.
