History Through Games Virtual Tour The Ancient World Virtual Tour

I started homeschooling when I was in the third grade, and continued until I entered college at the age of fifteen. After a year in community college, I entered Seattle Pacific University with a four-year full-tuition scholarship. I graduated in Spring 2010, magna cum laude, with B.A. in Political Economy and Rhetoric. I originally planned on a career in public policy, but gradually realized my vocation lay in teaching.

This will be my 11th year teaching at various homeschool coops, and my 10th year teaching at Connections. I primarily teach high school history and literature, though I also teach middle school and have branched out to such subjects as Physics and Latin in the past.

I grew up in an evangelical Christian household; I read and memorized Scripture from an earlier age, and was baptized at the age of nine. While I was active in my church – I served as director of the adult choir at the age of sixteen – my first ‘mountaintop experience’ with God came when I was seventeen. It changed my life and drove me to dive deeper into theology. After years of reading and reflection, I was surprised to discover how much my beliefs aligned with Catholic doctrine. I formally entered the Catholic Church on Easter 2016.
