Problem Solving in Elementary Math Virtual Tour

Hi, I’m Danielle! My journey of following God’s plan led me to Connections as a parent, and I’m happy to be teaching and serving on the board this year.

After earning my BA and Teaching Certification at Whitman College, I taught for over 15 years (a range of elementary grades and a bit of eighth-grade math). Additionally, I earned a Masters in Teaching from Grand Canyon University and a math certification for grades 4-9. In 2021, I felt God calling me to leave the world of public school for the “even more full-time job” of homeschooling my two boys.

Relationships are central to all learning experiences, and I strive to know my students so their needs can be met in a collaborative community. My goal is for students to grow in their confidence and critical thinking skills that are called on as they live God’s plan for their futures. My favorite part of teaching is the AHA lightbulb moment when kids’ perseverance pays off and when they link new ideas to their existing knowledge and grow new connections in their brains!
