Sandi Hull

I graduated from Northwest College (University) in 1998 with a degree in Secondary Education/English and then taught sixth grade at Providence Classical Christian School for two years. After my first two children were born, I was recruited to teach at a small homeschool co-op in my church.

My four-year-long experience at that small home-school co-op informed the direction of our family: We launched ourselves into homeschooling as soon as we could — which was way too soon. My three-year-old endured my Ed degree and a little too much direct instruction before I finally embraced the freedom, flexibility, and beauty of homeschooling.

Over the years, my teaching commitments followed the needs of my children in once-a-week co-op settings. Our family attended The Christian Language Center for seven years where I taught high school writing, and we have been at Seattle Classical Co-op now for four years, where I teach middle school humanities.

I am married to my husband of 25 years. We have six children, ages 22-9, one daughter-in-law, and a sweet, newborn grandson. We have been deeply blessed by the uniqueness of each of our children, by their educational challenges and strengths, and by their talents and choices. My greatest sorrows and my greatest joys have manifested juxtaposed in the task of homeschooling and parenting.

I have a passion for ideas and the expression of them. I love playing advocate and audience to students making connections, discovering relationships between the ideas, internalizing those ideas, discerning them, and amplifying them. I believe human formation is at the heart of liberal arts studies, and I am excited to grow with the Connections community.
