Kate graduated from Mills College in California with a degree in Elementary Education. While at Mills she was challenged (and greatly helped by her local church, Oakland First Covenant), to grapple with her Christian faith in the midst of many conflicting worldviews, seeing how God’s redemptive story brings beauty and meaning to all of life. After college, she married Eric and taught in public and private schools in California and Washington until she took an extended leave to have children. Kate and her husband then embarked on a twenty-five-year journey with their three children, home educating and learning much along the way. As a result, Kate loves to encourage homeschooling moms to thrive. Her family came to Connections when her oldest was in high school. The story of her journey here is a story of God’s goodness! Kate has taken on a teaching role at Connections going on six years now, and she loves it. Her Connections students keep her inspired and her heart full every week!  Her hope and prayer for each of her students is that they will learn how to approach their studies from a Biblical worldview and that they will see Jesus in all that they are learning.
